Includability is delighted to welcome the Royal National Lifeboat Institution as an Includability Committed Employer for 2022.

The RNLI have successfully completed an initial 5-Star Verification Process in which they have committed to take the journey toward authentic inclusion by integrating fairness into their company culture and into each stage of their recruitment process by making commitments in the fields of sustainability, mental health, wellbeing, talent management, and diversity and inclusion.

What is the Includability Committed Employer verification process?

The process was independently conducted by Includability Official Partners; Prosperah, Outliers Wellbeing, Flex Wellbeing, Unleashed, and Mental Health Charter CIC to ensure practices align with established definitions of an ‘Inclusive Workplace’.

Who are the RNLI?

The RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution)is a voluntary charity organisation that saves lives at sea. Their philosophy has endured for almost 200 years: to provide a lifesaving service using volunteers wherever possible, funded through voluntary donations.

Their purpose is to save every one in destress on the UK’s waters. Their Values reflect how work as one crew striving for excellence and to hold the trust of the public, our volunteers, supporters, partners and staff.

They are a community-based organisation that relies on local teams to operate but is directed and resourced centrally. They are a bridge-building organisation who work to identify, grow and maintain effective partnerships and coalitions to further the cause of the wider lifesaving community.

The RNLI are always striving for excellence and innovation as they are constantly looking for better ways of delivering what we do, embracing new technologies and ideas.

Kevin Barnard, Recruitment Manager at the RNLI said,

“Being an inclusive organisation; respecting and valuing the diversity of backgrounds, skills and perspectives with our teams isn't just important to the RNLI - we consider it to be essential in delivering a world-class lifesaving service. To support this, we have been looking for partners to help us improve our recruitment and attraction service and to reflect and promote our efforts to offer an inclusive recruitment and employment journey. Working with Includability has been a joy from the start, bringing value to both organisations. We are now delighted to have completed the 5-Star Verification Process to become an official Includability Committed Employer! We look forward to continue to work with Includability; gaining value from their monthly Employer Support Groups, network, and opportunities to promote vacancies within the RNLI to a diverse range of potential employees. Thank you, Includability!”

What is Includability?

Includability is a platform centred around community. It has been developed to raise expectation, increase employer accountability and create a new standard for what the recruitment sector should deliver through engagement, collaboration and regularly sharing best practice.

Includability provides a job board to all Includability Committed Employers and Official Partners. We aim to provide inspiration and action for positive change in the workplace. Our vision is to be the number one job platform of choice for employers and job seekers and to positively contribute towards a society that is free from discrimination will be achieved through clear communication, collaboration and decisive action.

What makes us different from other community platforms and job boards is every employer advertising on the platform is independently verified using a 5-Star Verification process, or 6-Star Verification process for recruitment agencies, to ensure companies are committed towards the areas of diversity and inclusion, environment and sustainability, mental health, wellbeing, and talent management.

Paul Smith, Founder of Includability, said:

“We are delighted to welcome RNLI into our Includability Community. It’s great that they were committed to working with our Verification Partners to obtain Includability Committed Employer status. By achieving this, RNLI has displayed excellent intentions and transparency. Completing our verification process means they are now part of a growing community of like-minded organisations that will support each other to share best practice, overcome obstacles, empower employees and work collaboratively to create an inclusive culture. I am very excited that we will be taking this journey together.”
