Read Alice's reaction to the news from social media:

"Last night, my name was included in The King's New Years Honours List. I have been awarded an MBE for services to online safety.
I was given the news on 23rd November, two days before the anniversary of my brother's death by suicide, and I have kept it a secret ever since.
The truth is, I simply could not have achieved this without the hard-work and support of my amazing team who I consider family (David Savage, Craig B., Ian Hendy, Harrison Read, Luke Haseldine, Elena Yaneva, Sam S., Thomas Kingston, Sarah Crawley, Josh Harding -https://lnkd.in/ecNsZaG5 ), the encouragement and love from my parents, family, friends and partner, and the positive reaction to Ripple Suicide Prevention Charity from the hundreds of schools, colleges, universities, charities and businesses around the world who have both shared and deployed R;pple.I feel quite overwhelmed with mixed emotions. Although such a huge honour for my family and I, setting up R;pple was never about backslaps or recognition.
My charity was created in memory of my little brother, Josh, to ensure mental health support is provided to people at their most vulnerable point, and to make the internet a safer place.
Thank you so much to everyone who has shown me the kindness, love, and empathy that has resulted in the creation of the charity, saving many lives in the process, and thank you to the kind individuals who took time out of their busy lives to nominate me.
As far as I am concerned, this MBE is an acknowledgement of the shared effort to all fellow warriors working so hard to prevent suicide, often whilst grieving the loss of a loved one.
Josh - I hope you're raising a glass up there in the knowledge that your legacy is helping so many people. I love you and miss you more than life itself, and I hope I am making you proud of me. Ultimately, that's all I now want in life."
