Rameez Kaleem, Founder of Includability Official Partner 3R Strategy, has released his new book, A Case of the Mondays on 20 September 2022.

This is his first book which focusses on pay transparency within organisations to give employees context around pay structures and decisions to establish a culture of trust, fairness and equity.

What is the reason behind the book?

According to a global study by Gallop, 85% of people unhappy in their jobs, Recent data shows a staggering 4 out of 5 people say that they get a bad night’s sleep on a Sunday, worried about going back to work on the next day.

This anxiety and unhappiness could be down to a heavy workload or toxic colleagues, however, Rameez believes the reason many of us dread going back to work is because there’s a lack of trust and transparency in the workplace.

What can I learn from this book?

The book covers how to commit to pay transparency without publishing everyone’s salaries and allows the reader to appreciate that pay transparency is a gradual process. The book also provides context to improve employee satisfaction even if organisations can’t afford to pay higher salaries, understand the interplay of pay and having a sense of purpose and belonging in the workplace.

The book provides practical steps and tools of how to successfully implement greater pay transparency to help organisations with their strategies.

Who are the book’s target demographics?

The pay transparency journey is different for each organisation. A Case of the Mondays offers a fresh approach for organisations no matter their starting point and an ideal read for HR specialists and beginners alike to start their pay transparency journey or to pick up additional strategy advice.

Who is the Author?

Rameez Kaleem has over 20 years of experience in pay and reward and has worked for Willis Towers Watson, building up a client list in financial services, general industry, and was the European lead for the media sector pay surveys. Rameez left Willis Towers Watson to join one of his media clients and subsequently worked at a FTSE 100 organisation.

Rameez founded 3R Strategy in 2015, a reward consultancy working as an extension of clients’ HR teams to introduce more transparent, fair and equitable pay and reward structures. Rameez and his colleagues work with clients to develop their reward strategies, career and job evaluation frameworks, pay structures and pay progression, incentives, and equal pay.

3R Strategy works with clients across all sectors from non-profit to financial services, biotech, professional service, and real estate.

The book is a culmination of this experience and delivers 3RStrategy’s core message of fair and equitable pay transparency to a wider audience.

Rameez told us, “We aim to get organisations to be more transparent in their managed pay for their employees so there is fairness and consistency and communicating with their employees. That is what the book is about.”
