Neurodiversity inclusion specialists and Includability Official Partners, Lexxic, have partnered with Siena Castellon

Siena Castellon, Founder of Neurodiversity Celebration Week and Lexxic will be contributing to a number of this year’s events.

Neurodiversity Celebration Week 21-27 March 2022 now has over 2,000 schools, universities, and organisations, and over 1.2 million students taking part in the celebrations worldwide.

Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. It aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported by providing schools, universities, and organisations with the opportunity to recognise the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent, while creating more inclusive and equitable cultures that celebrate differences and empower every individual.

Lexxic will be hosting nine webinars throughout the week for schools, parents, workplaces, and the wider public. The title of these webinars is - An Introduction to Neurodiversity – Let’s Change the Narrative!

The aim of this year’s celebrations is to create neuro-inclusive environments that help different minds thrive and to help change the narrative around neurological differences by sharing stories, positive messages and Neurodiversity Celebration Week events on social media.

You can follow the conversation using the hashtags: #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek, #neurodiversityweek, #NCW

A diverse schedule of events has been created for everyone to enjoy during Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2022! From introductory webinars, panel discussions and more, our wide range of events aim to educate and encourage conversations around neurodiversity, providing a safe space where thousands of people can be joined in celebrating different minds.

Castellon said in a statement on social media,

“We feel proud that we have a broad range of speakers with different backgrounds and lived experiences, including intersectional speakers and neurodivergent parents and neurodiversity experts. Many of our panels will be hosted by and include representatives from a wide range of neurodiversity charities, such as the ADHD Foundation, the Dyspraxia Foundation, Tourette Action and the PDA Society.”

What is Neurodiversity Celebration Week?

Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. It aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported by providing schools, universities, and organisations with the opportunity to recognise the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent, while creating more inclusive and equitable cultures that celebrate differences and empower every individual.

Why was it founded?

“I founded Neurodiversity Celebration Week in 2018 because I wanted to change the way learning differences are perceived. As a teenager who is autistic and has ADHD, dyslexia, and dyspraxia, my experience has been that people often focus on the challenges of neurological diversity. I wanted to change the narrative and create a balanced view which focuses equally on our talents and strengths.” Siena Castellon, Founder

What is the purpose of Neurodiversity Celebration Week?

Our purpose is to help the world to understand, value and celebrate the talents of neurodiverse minds.

How can you get involved in Neurodiversity Celebration Week?

If we work together there is no limit to the change we can make.

It is time to recognise the many strengths and talents that come from thinking and perceiving the world differently. By celebrating the strengths of neurodivergent individuals, we can begin the seismic shift of changing the way neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported, empowering them to achieve their potential.

Together, we can change the narrative.
