What do Planet Mark do?

Planet Mark is a sustainability certification for every type of organisation and for buildings. They recognise continuous improvement, encourage action and have built an empowered community of like-minded individuals who make a world of difference.

What will Planet Mark certification mean?

Through Planet Mark certification, our business will receive help to strengthen our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, contribute further to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and set credible net zero carbon targets.

Thrilled to receive our Planet Mark accreditation, David Holby-Wolinski, Director at Includability said, “We are absolutely thrilled to become Planet Mark Certified and our partnership with their amazing team means the world to us at Includability. This process has allowed us to gain a real hold of our carbon footprint, build our knowledge, and put a firm plan in place to reduce our absolute carbon year upon year – it also ensures we continue to remain accountable to our sustainability pledge as an ethical company with the very best community.
“We will continue to learn and be inspired by others so that may support as many organisations as possible on their own sustainability journey – we have a collective responsibility to strive to make this world abetter place for our children and the generations that will follow.”

What are the stats behind Includability’s certification?

Includability’s total carbon footprint was 1.2 tCO₂e, which breaks down to a total carbon footprint per employee was 0.3 tCO₂e. This is based on four team members working permanently from home.

Carbon emissions were measured based on five criteria: Electricity, Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Losses, Natural Gas, Burning oil, Waste and Water.

Burning oil contributed to 0.2 tCO2e of our total emissions.

Electricity contributed 0.2 tCO2e.

Natural gas - 0.5 tCO2e

T&D Losses - 0.02 tCO2e

Landfill waste - 0.2 tCO2e

Recycled waste - 0.01 tCO2e

Water supply - 0.004 tCO2e

Water treatment - 0.1 tCO2e

What are our next steps?

In order to maintain Includability’s Planet Mark certification, we will need to reduce our carbon footprint by 5%, that works out at 0.1 tCO2e or 0.02 tCO2e per team member.

To help us achieve this, we have access to Planet Mark’s offsetting partnerships. They have fantastic partners including The Eden Project and Cool Earth which will help us make contact and gain knowledge to achieve our target for next year.

The Eden Project, an educational charity, which allows us to connect with each other and the living world, exploring to work towards abetter future.

Cool Earth is helping rainforest communities to protect nearly 100,000 hectares of biodiversity rich rainforest across three continents.

Behind this huge milestone are thousands of families whose futures have been transformed. For achieving our certification, Planet Mark have protected one acre of Peruvian rainforest in our name.

As a business, our biggest climate impacts to date have been through working with philanthropic enterprises like B1G1 and Ecologi.
